Chiropractic Care

 

Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine mostly concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine. The main chiropractic techniques involves manual therapy, especially spinal manipulation therapy (SMT), and manipulations of other joints.

Acupuncture/ Traditional Chinese Medicine

 

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. A key component of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain. Increasingly, it is being used for overall wellness, including stress management. 

 In contrast, many Western practitioners view the acupuncture points as places to stimulate nerves, muscles and connective tissue. Some believe that this stimulation boosts your body's natural painkillers. 

Osteopathy

 

Osteopathy takes a holistic, whole-body approach to healthcare. It uses manual 'hands-on' techniques to improve circulation and correct altered bio-mechanics, without the use of drugs. An osteopathic practitioner does not concentrate only on the problem area, but uses manual techniques to balance all the body systems, and to provide overall good health and well-being.

Naturopathic medicine (or naturopathy) is based on the belief that the body can heal itself. It aims to improve health, prevent disease, and treat illness through the use of organic foods and exercise; a healthy, balanced lifestyle; and the use of treatments from other areas of complementary medicine.

Chiropody is the treatment and prevention of diseases or disorder of the foot by therapeutic or orthotic means. Treatment is achieved through the palliative approach; Assessing and managing of the foot and foot related conditions.

Chiropodists specialize in the recognition, assessment, treatment and ongoing care of the foot - and are an essential member of the health care team.
